Colonial Trade

In social studies, we just did quick presentations about the different trades during the colonial times (1700's).  Which job would you do if you were a colonist?  What different things would affect your job?  What would be fair things to trade for your goods or services?  Write at least 7 sentences!

If you need to refresh your memory quickly, here is the colonial trade website.

  1. I would like to be the silversmith because I love silver, and like it would come in handy one day, because like if I wanted to let my child go to school I would give the person silver to teach my child so it would be fair for the both of us.I could also give silver to other people too.

In class we have learned about the colonial times and the #1 job i would choose is to be a great Tailor. A Tailor is a person who makes clothes for the people that want clothes but not just Tailors have jobs like this, that can help people some exp. are Brickmaking, maskmaking, blacksmiths, and many more but out of them all i choose a Tailor. Because it's based on what fits best for you. My mom always says i have a gift for a fashion sense, but i don't really care because if i were a colonial explore i would have to try many jobs and maybe it might be diffrent from being a Tailor. I could be a Brick maker, a Mask maker ,and theres many more dicisons to pick from. I hope you enjoyed my comment but so long for now, o and now it's your turn to pick which colonial job you would want.

My partner and I were the coopers. We made the barrels that held milk to wine in them. They were also for gunpowder, hogshead, and they also used them for food that they kept on ships. I know that if you went looking for them you would mainly find them on a boat or at the military.
