Bandwagon
Bandwagon is a persuasive technique that makes the viewer believe that he/she should do something because everyone else is doing it. This has been done with many good things, such as donating to specific charities, or helping out different causes, but has also been done in the past with smoking, or other things that are harmful to the body. Think about a time where someone or something (an adult, a commercial, a salesman) has almost or actually convinced you or a family member to do something using the bandwagon idea. Write at least 6 sentences about this time.

I time I was almost convinced to buy something was on T.V. There was a comercial on moon sand. I thought I really wanted it sooo bad. Then I went to my friends house and she had some. I was exited to play with it. After I played with it I realzed I did't like it. It didn't do anything like the T.v said. Then I relized never to trust T.V comercials but for some reason I still do. I just can't help it

ReplyDeleteOnce on t.v me and my mom alsmost got a purse thing. What you did with it is you got all these different little strips of different designs. Each strip had a zipper on it. They said that EVERYONE was using them. At first I wanted one... then my mom came back from work one day then she told me her boss said that she got her daughter one and that they don't work at all!!!! What I thought was funny was that yes, a lot of people weree using them but, no one liked them..... Pat attention to commercials!!!
One time when a person has bandwagoned one of my family members is when my mom was watching T.V. A commercial came on about make up. It was called Sheer Cover. It was a bronzing make up. And there was a whole bunch of women on there that said they tried it and it waas amazing. Then it showed before and after pictures. And then my mom called the number on the screen.It was very expensive.So they mailed it to her.And when she got it she loved it.So one day she spilled all of it and it was to expensive to replace.And that is the time one of my family members got bandwagoned.

ReplyDeleteOne time my mom was watching television and she almost did bandwagon. A commercial came on and it was about really expensive makeup. She wanted it to. Also it said that everyone was wearing it. I said it was to much money. Thats my paragragh on bandwagon. By the way the definition for bandwagon is, its trying to persuade you to do something because everyone else is doing it. Now that is the end of the paragraph for bandwagon, always remember that you dont have to do everything people do because you think they are cool or because everyone else is doing it.

ReplyDeleteMy bandwagon was when I was on a trail ride and a great salesman came up to me and asked me to buy a horse that was $2,000. I told him I couldn't afford it. He told me he would cut it down to $20.00 and I told him I would be right back. I went to ask my mom if we could have a horse, but when we went to go see it, it was a skinny minature pony not a horse. I love horses but this horse was not a horse at all. I hope that man does not ask me to buy a horse again unless it is a real horse that is fit and happy and is an actual horse.
My bandwagon
ReplyDeleteOne time I used the bandwagon technique was to get my brother to clean my room.This is what I said,"Come on Dawson if you clean my room I will give you one of my pancakes at breakfast today.What if next week on cleaning day I do your laundry? Ok. Iwill clean your room.Ok so you want me to do your laundry right.Yes.Ok so I get my pancake in the morning now get to cleaning.
That is how I bandwagond my brother to clean my room I tricked him I said laundry and a pancake but only gave him laundy.
The bandwagon can trick peaple and they will not know it to the end.

ReplyDeleteOne day I went to the zoo. I was at the petting zoo feeding the goats, chickens, pigs, and the hens. When I finished a crazy guy named Fred tried to convince me to go into the elephant exhibit and hit the baby elephant. He said he wanted to post it on You Tube. I was only 5 at the time. I went near the elephant cage, saw a huge rock, picked it up, and threw it at Fred. My parents called the cops and Fred got arrested. I never listened to people like him again.

ReplyDeleteBandwagon has worked on my mom before because on Black Friday they said somthing was on a oneday sale for $100 at Wallmart.On Saterday she went back to Wallmart and it was still on sale for $5 so she was a little unhappy and returned her item.She will not fall for that again were exactly her words.

ReplyDeleteI am going to tell you about a time someone tried to bandwagon me.One time someone tried to bandwagon me at walmart. This worker lady said that I should by this nuetragena face clensing product for $20.00. She said "It is the new selling product and all te girls your age are buying it". I was smart and said "no thanks my cousin bought it and althou it gets rid of acne it also gets rid of your money". So learn persuasive techniques it can help you be smart.
I was watching Tv and there was this salesman with a really annoying voice.But his voice it made him sound really explosofe.He was trying to get people to buy some rags and. They were suppost to like soak up all the water,coke and all that stuff. So this guy he went to a bunch of fairs and stuff. He sold a bunch of those rags. Why not buy some regular rags. There proubly cheaper, and work just as good.

ReplyDeleteOne time someone did that to my mom is at the mall. They asked my mom if she would buy a pretty purse. it was $150 my mom said no thank you i dont think we can buy that. Then the girl said that she would put the price at $100 then my mom said okay i will buy it.then my mom bought it and i was glad we left. ☺ Love Tatiana
I will give an example of a bandwagon. There is this new toy or gum out and all of your friends and everybody else has it and you go to buy it and you buy it that's a bandwagon. I'll show you another example of a bandwagon. There is this food that you like and they say its fantastic and you by it when all your freinds have it and all your friends don't like it and you do well you'll try to fit in with all your ferinds and the'll think that you did the right thing.

ReplyDeleteToday is what i a going to talk to you about what is going on in comersials that don't really look like they do, one way a commercial convinced me to buy something this item was a moon sand so that one day me and my family and went to the store, and then bought it and then when we got home i opened it up and played with it then i put the lid, and and put it up, then i opened it the next day and it was dried up. SO DON'T BY ANYTHING ON COMERCIALS. hope you learned this leasen i now i did. Bye.

ReplyDeleteToday I am going to talk about bandwagon. One time when In wanted a pair pof p.j. and I got them I was so excited to wear them and when I tried them on the shirt fitted me perfectly and the bottoms was a tottaly different size.uh
Everyone wanted to have a X-box 360 and then I ask for it after my friend told me watch the commercial about it. It showed us how everyone had one and it could play your own music during the game. When I got it I put music on it and played for about 30 minutes until it got knock over and didn't ever work again. I told my friend what happen and he couldn't figure it out. And thats
